nanimarquina is currently one of the most respected companies in the contemporary
rug design sector. Founded in Barcelona in 1987, we have established ourselves as a model brand thanks to our constant striving for development and creativity.

After participating in a number of large-scale projects, we have developed new work methodologies in the contract channel. In these pages, we present the process behind these projects, from the design and manufacture to the final assembly; tasks in which the participation of collaborators, project sponsors, architects, creators, craftspeople, manufacturers, fitters and our own in-house design and production team has been essential, all coordinated and supervised by Nani Marquina herself. Our values reside in the knowledge and experience backed up by over 20 years creating rugs.

Thanks to our flexibility, we provide the opportunity of obtaining total adaptation to any type of project, as well as new forms of work and partnerships. The sky is the limit!

Design process and work methodology

Our design and production team is made up of highly experienced professionals. We also have manufacturers specialised in rugs, capable of producing any number of measurements. In all of the projects we work on, special attention is paid to the finish, with strict quality control processes, and with the know-how that is essential to obtain optimal results.

Our participation in large-scale projects is usually through collaborations with external architects, working side-by-side on the assignment. The architect, designer or interior designer proposes a concept and we develop it on the basis of the project sponsor’s art direction. This is a case of a constant exchange of opinions, a consensus between our in-house team and the architect’s studio. Here at nanimarquina, not only do we provide our experience, but all the tools that may be required, such as comprehensive colour charts and material and quality samples.

The working methodology varies, depending on the assignment. Sometimes, it is the architect or designer who comes along to us with their design, and we take care of manufacturing the item. The nanimarquina team evaluates the project, proposes the most suitable manufacturing technique and selects the ideal materials for producing the design in line with the client’s technical and budgetary requirements.

On other occasions, the project sponsor chooses a collection from our catalogue, and makes the order, stipulating the special measurements and colours.
