nanimarquina
One of nanimarquina¡¯s biggest contributions to the development of fair trade is the manufacture of the Potten collection in the Bhopal Rehabilitation workshops in India.
Bhopal Rehabilitation was set up in 1985, one year after the disaster that took place in this city. On the 3rd December 1984, Bhopal suffered a devastating tragedy when 42 tonnes of toxic gases leaked from a North American pesticides factory. The accident led to the death of 20,000 people and left another 150,000 with severe physical after-effects.
Bhopal Rehabilitation¡¯s objective is to provide help and support for the victims of the disaster, particularly for those who lost family members. The organisation provides decent, paid work opportunities as well as knowledge of production methods for all its workers.
Buying one of nanimarquina¡¯s Potten textile containers means contributing to the development of fair trade and helping the victims of the tragedy.
