The booth designed by the design team and Robert Pallí showed the seven rugs that take part of the Chillida Collection in an elegant and highlighting space.

This year nanimarquina has created Chillida Collection based on a chronological selection of his work, from Figura Humana 1948, through Dibujo Tinta 1957, to Collage 1966 that reflects the process prior to his most famous sculpture, the Peine del Viento in San Sebastián.

It also includes two pictures of his famous hands from the 90s, and Gravitación, 1993 and 1994, where he creates a new form of relief, sculpture made of paper.

All this work has been accurately translated into the rugs. All of them are handmade using various techniques and different materials like wool, silk and mohair, to give texture and show the essence of his wok and provide desired value.

The booth had a display which outlined the materials and tools that are used during the manufacturing process in India and some photographs of the collection.

Finally, we would like to share a picture with Nani Marquina, CEO, Benoît Anicet, Operations Manager North America, and Pierre Armengaud, Commercial Director, on the stand.

We want to thank in this blog all the congratulations received by this collection and the 25 th anniversary, we are back from Milan very happy for the great acceptance of this collection that it is so special for us.

That’s why, after 25 years of work, I’ve decided to pay homage to Chillida, an artist of my own time and country who greatly influenced me with his way of understanding space. These rugs provide a faithful retrospective of his work, of his drawings, engravings and collages, using the best materials and craft techniques to offer the highest quality.

This is avant-garde work and commercial products that explain the relevant position held by France in the international design panorama.

In the exhibition is exposed Losanges rug designed by Erwan and Ronan Bouroullec for nanimarquina in 2011 as an icon of the new French design. The show is exposed in the Matadero in Madrid from March 7 to May 30 and admission is free.

The illustration on the bag is designed by Carlota Marquina, our graphic designer and author of the image of the 25 th anniversary.

The exhibition, Graphic Detour, began in the Graphic Design Museum in Breda (Netherlands) and finished in Direktorenhaus Berlin (Germany).
